First Timothy is the Book of the Pastor. Along with Titus, and 2nd Timothy, this “pastoral epistle” provides wisdom and application for the Godly operations of local churches. Timothy was still a young man, but entrusted with the pastorate in Ephesus. Paul encouraged him to remain true to the Lord and to fight the good fight to which he had been called.
“To Timothy” is named for the recipient of the epistle.
