And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:

And David said to Solomon: My son, it was my desire to have built a house to the name of the Lord my God.

And David said to Solomon, As for me, my son, I was minded to build a house unto the name of Jehovah my God.

And David said to Solomon, My son, it was my desire to put up a house for the name of the Lord my God.

And David said to Solomon: 'My son, as for me, it was in my heart to build a house unto the name of the LORD my God.

And David said to Solomon,.... When brought into his presence:
my son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God; he was disposed and inclined to it, and was once determined upon it, see 2-Samuel 7:2.
