And because the saying pleased me, I sent of you twelve men, one of every tribe:

And the matter was good in mine eyes; and I took twelve men of you, one man for a tribe.

and the thing is good in mine eyes, and I take of you twelve men, one man for a tribe.

And what you said seemed good to me, and I took twelve men from among you, one from every tribe;

And since the word was pleasing to me, I sent from among you twelve men, one from each tribe.

Quod placuit in oculis meis, et sumpsi ex vobis duodecim viros, virum unum ex quaque tribu.

And the saying pleased me well,.... Taking it to be a rational and prudent scheme, not imagining it was the effect of fear and distrust:
and I took twelve men of you out of a tribe; whose names are given in Numbers 13:4.
