Historical Commentaries

Scholarly Analysis and Interpretation.

And Rabbith,.... The first of these Jerom calls (a) Rabboth in the tribe of Issachar:
and Kishion, as Masius notes, seems to given name to the river Kishon near it; some take it to be the same with Kedesh, 1-Chronicles 6:72,
and Abez, of which no mention is made elsewhere.
(a) De loc. Hebrews. fol. 94. B.

Harabbit is supposed by Knobel to be Araboneh, on the north-east of Arneh, at the southern foot of Gilboa (Rob. iii. p. 157). Kishion, which was given up to the Levites (Joshua 21:28) and is erroneously written Kedesh in 1-Chronicles 6:57, is unknown. This also applies to Abez or Ebez, which is never mentioned again.
