Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

Then the high priest rending his garments, saith: What need we any further witnesses?

And the high priest, having rent his clothes, says, What need have we any more of witnesses?

And the chief priest, having rent his garments, saith, 'What need have we yet of witnesses?

Rending his garments the High Priest exclaimed, "What need have we of witnesses after that?

And the high priest, violently parting his robes, said, What more need have we of witnesses?

Then the high priest, rending his garments, said: "Why do we still require witnesses?

At this the high priest tore his vestments. "Why do we want any more witnesses?" he exclaimed.

Then the high priest rent his clothes,.... As was usual upon hearing blasphemy; which he now supposed the case, or at least would have it so thought:
