And in response, Jesus said to them: "Have you set out to apprehend me, just as if to a robber, with swords and clubs?

But Jesus spoke up, and said to the men, "Have you come out, as if after a robber, with swords and clubs, to take me?

And Jesus answered and said unto them,.... To the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, that came with the band and officers, as appears from Luke 22:52. The Persic version reads, "to the multitude":
